Acknowledging The Past, Continuing The Struggle

I was privileged to be apart of the official launch of the 2011 Freedom Ride in Sydney on the weekend.
Re-tracing the original 2,300km journey made in 1965 through northwest and coastal NSW, the Freedom Ride 2011 will celebrate the significant impact this early expedition had on the identity of Aboriginal Australia and it’s role as a forerunner for considerable changes to improving the quality of life for Aboriginal people.
Lend your support by following the journey here.

While I dance...

I know nothing about ballet... but this is beauty.
Surfing should be less sport and more ballet. Watch and be inspired.
"While I dance I cannot judge, I cannot hate, I cannot seperate myself from life. I can only be joyful and whole. This is why I dance." -Hans Bos

Words and Pictures - a blog

My friend Luke has been riding singlefins (only singlefins) since the very early nineties. I have never meet anyone as stoked or ready to talk about singles as he. He is devoted to shape, rail, rocker and fin.
Luke has begun the bumpy blog journey to share his stoke. Follow along at Words and Pictures.
Looking forward to more mate!

Mast and Riggin'

Often when I am slumbering I have a pleasant dream. With my sweet girl I am sitting down by some purling stream. Through England I am roaming with her at my command. Then waken broken hearted upon Van Diemen's Land... Anonymous Convict

Birding Nerding

I was fortunate enough to spot a pair of Pacific Bazas in a gum outside my window.
I know it's hard for some people to understand but I was so amped afterwards! Open your ears and eyes to the Australian bush whence splendour resides...

Another Empty Wreckage

There is something more ponderous, more significant about an empty wave than one ridden.
Is it a lonely life ended, or a journey spent? Is it a smaller part of a generation of breakers? Is it undefiled?
We are honoured to witness their breaking up - their wrecking.

I'm not the biggest fan of the boog... but I can appreciate this brave soul's stoke for the view... and the inevitable thumping he's about to get.
